The days I spent in Catania were just to foggy to see anything from Etna. Poor me, but I got lucky in spending some other day on Stromboli and visiting the vulcano over there. Not only was this active vulcano super exciting. The trip to it was just wonderful, taking a ferry over to the island and then walking up to the viewpoint. Usually people could go up further but nowadays the path seems to be only accessible by guides. Still loved the view.

In Catania seeing all that ash on the streets and cars and roofs was very worth coming. I still will be back at some point to go up. But for now I was very excited with my trip.

For all folks that also wanna go, I got some cheap flights from CGN to Palermo und took the train just around the island. Conditions were perfect and I would recommend this way to everyone.
